We have run testing on icepack prototypes comparing surface temperature. The prototypes were made with a poly film 4 mil envelope with different contents. The frozen products were laying flat on an open mesh surface in a 17 deg C environment.
The superabsorbent gel content (1% in tap water) surface temperature has increased by 5 degrees after 5 hours compared to the water content that increased by 10 degrees after the same time.
